SUNDAY, DAY #1 – Welcome!
Guests check into the hotel and explore Emilia-Romagna on their own.
We’ll gather together early in the evening for introductions and a review of our exciting week ahead, followed by a welcome dinner at one of Modena’s local restaurants, serving traditional fare in an upbeat atmosphere.
MONDAY, DAY #2
Parmesan & Balsamic Tours
We’ll head out this morning for a Parmigiano production tour. We’ll observe how multiple generations of expert cheesemakers create massive wheels of DOP-Denominazione di Origine Protetta (Protected Designation of Origin) Parmigiano Reggiano. We’ll sample and compare flavors of various aged cheeses. Next, we head to the historic city center for lunch at a farm to table restaurant, followed by a late afternoon balsamic tasting at an acclaimed family Acetaia, honored for their traditionally produced balsamic vinegars.
Dinner tonight will be a short bus ride from our hotel and will feature a regional tasting menu specially prepared for our guests.
TUESDAY, DAY #3
Local Walking Tour, Cooking Class & Lunch
We’ll begin our day walking to our first cooking class at a family run Salumeria, the oldest in all of Europe. After learning new pasta skills, we will enjoy an unforgettable lunch at their renowned restaurant. In the late afternoon, our guide will take us on a walking tour of Modena. We will end our day at a popular pizzeria, just a short walk from our hotel.
WEDNESDAY, DAY #4
Today is epic. The bus will take us just outside Bologna for a tour of the gelato museum and a class which teaches us the art of making gelato. After class, we will enjoy a nice lunch in the city and have free time in the afternoon for some shopping or perhaps an apertivio. Dinner tonight will be at the one of Modena’s top-rated restaurants with a legendary chef. This may prove to be your favorite meal…
THURSDAY, DAY #5
Il Tortellante Day
This morning we will take a short walk to Il Tortellante for a Pasta demonstration/ class, followed by a light lunch. After walking back to the hotel for a rest, we will head out for an expansive wine tasting at an highly acclaimed winery. Dinner tonight will be back in Modena at one of the most innovative restaurants around. The talented chef is a stand out who puts a modern twist on traditional Modenese ingredients.
FRIDAY, DAY #6
Ferrari Museum Tour and Farewell Meal
Guests have the opportunity to visit the Ferarri Museum before lunch. Our farewell meal will be an elegant tasting lunch at Massimo Bottura’s newest restaurant. The afternoon is free for guests to shop in Modena. An early evening aperitivo arrivederci party will be offered as well.
